Chālchihuitl - Dragon Rider CDC

This March the theme of the Character Design Challenge on Facebook, were Dragonriders, and we had to create a possible original character without dragon ! I was inspired by Mesoamerican crenads, lands and their colors.

According to the Aztec legend of the Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god, deceived by his brother Tezcatlipoca, was seduced by his siter and persuaded to make love with her. Worn out of remorse, he decided to kill himself by setting himself on fire.

(Invents part >) From that union was born Chālchihuitl ("Jade" in the nāhuatl language), which since chilhood, proved awake and capable. She grew to the side of is faithful dragon, a huge winged serpent, which was born from the ashes of the late father (and the appearence strongly similar to his trasformation). As soon as she reached adulthood, she defeated the astute uncle Tezcatlipoca by ousting him, and thus began to lead the people with absolute humilty, crossing the heavens on back of his dragon.
